Hair Care

We do not recommend washing curly hair every day.  Curly or wavy hair hair needs to be moisturized. Washing every day will rid the hair of natural oils your hair produces and will dry out the hair. We recommend washing every 2-3 days.

Always use a sulfate free hydrating shampoo.

Apply conditioner to the mids and ends and brush out tangles in the shower with a wide tooth comb. Let sit for 2-3 minutes and rinse off.

Use a hydrating mask once a month or whenever your hair feels like it needs extra love.

Use a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove any product buildup.

Always brush hair when wet, never dry or this will create a ton of frizz.

Start brushing from the ends and work your way up.

DO NOT use any brushes containing metal bristles with balls on the ends of the bristles.  They are too harsh on textured hair and will cause breakage.  Textured hair is finer and more fragile than straight hair.  It needs to be brushed delicately to preserve its integrity.

When brushing hand-tied wefts, do not brush over the seams with a brush.  This WILL cause damage to the seam. Instead, hold the seam with one hand and brush beneath the weft.

If you choose to let your hair air dry, always blow dry the seams of the wefts.  If you don't, consistent moisture on the seams will cause them to expand causing shedding of the hair.

Any clients with hard water will experience more tangling.  The pH of hard water is very high causing the cuticles to open creating more frizz and tangles. Always educate your clients during the consultation so there are no surprises.  To prevent tangling and frizz, see below.
